Quiet Times

Bible Study Lessons

GOD created us like Himself so that we might know what He is like and what he wants. Paul described this when he said that his life's goal was to know God through Jesus. (Philippians 3:8). This is what God desires from us. He wants our priority to be knowing and enjoying Him as our Lord and friend... Here are some scriptural suggestions of things that you may find helpful during your quiet times in growing in your walk with the LORD.

* Be still - Recognize God for who He is. Psalm 46:10, Revelation 1:8, John 1:1-5
* Pray - Simply talk with God. With prayer and thanksgiving, Philippians 4:6, 1 Thess. 5:18, Psalm 92:1-2, Psalm 69:30. With requests from your heart, 1 John 5:14-15, Mark 11:24.
* Study Scripture - Getting intimate with God begins with knowing His character and will for our lives. The more deeply we know--the more fully we can love--and the more fully we love--the more completely we can serve. 2 Timothy 2:15, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Peter 2:2.
* Life Application - Apply what God is teaching you to your life. Unless the Word is evaluating our lives, it is missing its purpose... Hebrews 4:12, James 1:22.
* Worship - Plain and simple: tell God "I love You" in your own way. Deut. 6:13, Psalm 66:4, John 4:21-24.
* Meditate/Memorize - Meditate on and memorize the Word of God so that it dwells within you always... Colossians 3:16, Psalm 19:14, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3.
